Favorite Comments, Stories and Quotes for and from Children

I would like to start by talking about a quote from one of my students. She wrote me a note one day during class. It said: Dear Mrs.Howard, I love you and I want to thank you for helping me with my work. I want you to know that you are my butterfly. It really touched me because she took the time to recognize me because I took the time to make sure that her needs was meet. My favorite children's book is the Little Engine that Could because it symbolizes how we as teachers should stay commited to our students when they want to give up and also should show students if they don't give up anything is possible. When you see the smile on a child's face when they learn how to read their first sentence, get a math problem right, or just need to listen to what they have to say, that makes me feel a since of accomplishment because sometimes we are all these children have to depend on. It should fuel your passion for children because you have made a differences in their lives. Sometimes all they want in just a hug or for you to tell them that you love them. So many times we take these children for granted because we feel that they should have gotten what they need at home but when a child comes to class hungry or say they have been up all night because their parents were fighting then you know that your job maybe a little hard that day but we as teachers have to that rock to help them to make through that day.
